Y r pornbots aloud 2 take over Yahoo, but legitimate businesses can’t advertise the same way in Yahoo chat?

I’m trying to do everything I can to get my business running, but advertising expenses are outrageous. Yahoo marketing advertises it’s pay per click as being very affordable. I checked into about 5 keywords that I wanted to use, but these 5 keywords would have cost me $290/day. Who has that kind of money to spend on advertisements. I’m a small businessman trying to get started, not a corporation with a huge marketing budget.

Get some free advertising from your local papers…have them do a business “spotlight” on your company. The papers here do it on a different area business about 1x a week and it is great!

There are different options. You can limit your daily amount and see if it is worth doing the PPC. There are some very good books by Levenson about Guerilla marketing, and depending where you are located, Craigslist.com is a great way to get exposure and they have a really good business forum.
